WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

OUR HISTORY

In 1996, Johannes Amritzer and wife Maria traveled through the jungles of Kenya to preach the Gospel to the the Maasai people and other tribes. That became the first of many festivals. What Johannes and Maria started grew like wildfire. They were pioneering a movement that reached across Europe and were preaching the Gospel to unreached tribes in South America, Southeast Asia, India, and many countries on the continent of Africa. They would do whatever needed to be done to see a festival happen. They sold their belongings to generate finances; they preached from platforms that were wooden tables tied together with rope. There were many obstacles to overcome on their journey, but one thing was certain: Signs, wonders, and miracles followed them wherever they went.

Who We Are

  • SOS Adventure is a team of simple missionaries united by one goal: to love people, preach Jesus, and reach Africa. We are a non-profit, evangelistic missions ministry that organizes large-scale festivals across the African continent and equips teams to serve alongside us.

    The Holy Spirit is our Director and Jesus the love of our lives. We have traveled to countries all over the world to preach the Gospel—sharing it in the deep bush with unreached tribes and pressing into hard ground across Muslim, Hindu, and Buddhist nations throughout Asia, South America, and Africa.

    Now, we are plowing through one African city at a time, with our hearts set on one thing: to preach the precious message of the Gospel to the lost.

    3. Man was created good. However, man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God.

    4. Man's only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.

    5. The Holy Spirit is the third head of the Triune God who indwells every individual whose faith is in Jesus.

    6. The Baptism in Holy Spirit and speaking in tongues is power for life and ministry

    7. Signs and Wonders is God’s will for today

    8. The mission is every people group on earth

  • “BE” SOS

    1. Be Family & Build Big

    • We are an international, fiercely loyal apostolic family committed to the SOS Adventure vision and each other.

    • We live in a tension between the call to build a big missions organization with massive impact in the world and our passion to build intimate, disciple-making communities where we live.

    2. Be a missionary

    • We are relentless about making friends with non-believers and making disciples one-on-one.

    • We are planted in a local church or building one in our living rooms

    • We live simple lives

    • We serve before we lead

    • We love people, with an extra heart for the wild and underdogs

    3. Be Faithful

    • We pray a lot, passionately and loud.

    • We are early risers with a strong devotional life

    • We listen and obey quickly

    • We speak faith all the time. We are obnoxious optimistics!

    • We are men and women of integrity

    4. Be Whole

    • We make time for family

    • We exercise and eat well

    • We make time for Sabbath rest and vacations

    • We invest on individual interests that are good for the soul

    5. Be Generous

    • We tithe and give radically to missions

    • We make our homes available for the needy, our cars are available to be used, we pay into our trips (even SOS related items), and we show radical hospitality. We live with an “open hand.”

    6. Be Super-natural

    • We believe and preach a full Gospel: Signs, Wonders, The Cross, Water Baptisms, and Baptism in fire with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

    • We are down to earth and relatable to the world around us, but we walk in the power of God activating all the gifts of the Spirit in our daily lives

    • We are guided by the voice of the Holy Spirit! We live the Book of Acts!

    7. Be a Finisher

    We will finish the great commission by reaching every unreached people group in the world. That’s our aim. Our share of the pie in this enormous task, or better put, our calling and grace to this is in Africa. Africa is our Capernaum, our green house, where the dead come to life! Our blood, sweat and tears is aimed at making Jesus known in this great continent. That's our great commission.

SOS Adventure stands on the shoulders of a giant in the faith! We honor Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke (1940-2019) for not only the legacy of a Harvest that he left as he spent his life plowing through ther continent of Africa, but also for being a spiritual father to Evangelist Johannes.

We will continue to plunder Hell and populate Heaven for Jesus!
